Express Stokage

Got a great result in a freeroll on Express poker last night - 4th out of 2893 players! To be honest I wasn't really paying attention for the 1st hour because I was playing a bigger game on Bodog. However when I bombed out of that one I realised what a great position I had in the Express game. I'd only been playing the real premium hands in order to concentrate on Bodog and as a result I had won a huge percentage of the hands I'd played.

I think there's a real lesson there about the quality of starting hands you should get involved with. I am not (and never have been) the tightest player because I like to actually play; I've seen people online who are quite happy to fold consistently for over an hour, but more often than not they're in the money at the end of the game.

So playing uber-tight is they key? Well, obviously, if it was that simple then everyone would do it, but I think its something I do need to do more. The huge downside of this approach is that its easy to get bored, so what's the answer?

Playing multiple tables! Oh yes indeed. Its the best of both worlds. I've done it 2 or 3 times now and to start with it is pretty frenetic, but once you get into the swing of it you realise that even if you're in a hand on both tables at the same time you still have plenty of time to think and make the right move.

Playing multiple tables - its the future; I've tasted it.

Yet Another Blog ...

I've been thinking about knocking up some sort of poker blog for a while now, really just so I have a record of my online wins and losses. Then when Jimmy The Fish suggested some kind of league based on our Roundhouse poker results I thought "Bonza! I'll combine the two". Bit of synergy. Mmmm, nice.

So to get the ball rolling (and to rub some well needed salt in a few raw wounds) I thought I'd give a quick summary of my Roundhouse results for 2007 ...
